Panipat would be developed as Gurgaon Pattern
Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda announced that Panipat would be developed on the pattern of Gurgaon.
The Chief Minister was addressing a largely attended public meeting organised by Local MLA, Birpal Shah in new Subji Mandi Panipat. He said that the college would be set up after identifying a suitable site in the town as it will fulfil a longstanding demand of the people of this area.
While promising to change the development scenario of Panipat in the coming years, the Chief Minister said a Rs 36 crore plan had been envisaged for remodeling of Panipat Drain Number- one which would solve the problems of sewerage and waterlogging in this historical town. He disclosed that the government had also submitted a proposal involving an estimated expenditure of Rs 204 crore, to the world bank for canal-based drinking water supply scheme in the town as the level of ground water level had depleted considerably in last decade.
Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Sunday said that the Union Minister for Shipping, Road Transport and Highways, T R Balu has conceded his request for constructing five foot bridges and two underpasses on National Highway no. 8 in Gurgaon district.The Chief Minister said that these foot bridges would be built for the smooth passage of vehicles as well as for the commuters.
He said that he had telephonically talked with Balu today, who had agreed to lay the foundation stone of these bridges on January 23.
The foot bridges would be constructed at Khandsa, Rajiv Chowk, Narshing Pura and two bridges between IFFCO Chowk and Udyog Marg.
Similarly, two underpasses would be constructed at Anaj Mandi and Khedki Daulta, an official release here quoting Hooda said.
